Lodge Farm Project Update 2026

We've always had the desire to fund new and exciting carbon sequestration projects in the UK. There's always a risk that things may not go exactly to plan, but also a chance that we may learn something—perhaps completely unexpected—as a result of "giving it a go." The willow project at Lodge Farm has experienced both.

Following the initial planting, the weather was particularly unfavourable, and as noted in our earlier updates, growth fell a little behind schedule. However, roll forward a couple of seasons, and things have gone from strength to strength. Not only has the willow now been successfully harvested—and started to regrow—but the project itself is backed by ADOPT (Innovate UK) and Defra. Beyond carbon capture, we are also seeing willow used directly as a compost alternative to peat.

We are delighted with these positive steps and the progress made in just a few short years. A sincere thank you to everyone who has offset carbon through My Carbon Plan to help support this project!
